Jon has been in the top for a decade now which is very impressing and nobody can take that from him and he has done so much for freeskiing, but i'm getting seriously tired of his jetset steeze. Your about as classy as a russian who just filled his pockets with dollars from shady business. But since skiing is an upper-class sport (except in scandinavia) i guess it's a legit PR stunt buying 150 bottles of champagne.
But it also creates a gap between Jon and people who should recognize what he has accomplished and thereby paved the way for skiers. That champagne tab should be bigger than many "pro"-skiers paychecks and that doesn't feel kosher. Sadly it makes it way to easy to pick on Jon.
So please Jon skip the bullshit and just ski.
This is the Jon I'd like to see instead.

Not saying that ordering 150 bottles of champagne should be everyones goal in life, but Jon is a great role model and inspiration for skiers. Drinking cheep beer and acting like a redneck or to think that you are born and raised in Harlem (seriously, WTF?) is however not something to pursuit if you ask me.

Why is it bad role modeling?
I would say that Jon is the best rolemodel in this sport. showing kids that you have to work hard if you want to go to become someone.

its not a matter of NOT allowing people to be better or flashing their gods (jantelagen), its a matter of bad taste and bad role modeling. Also a matter of outgrowing your suit in a bad way. Trashtalking freeskiing and judgingsports now and again, when those are the sports that made him is just so low if you ask me. So Christian, im sorry, but you seem to get the article backwards...
