Pour up the moonshine and punch me in the face!
Moonshine, rock n roll & eurodisco, fistfights, cruising, brawls, denim, fat girls…
Many years ago when the Swedish version of Rat Pack, including yours truly on vocals, traveled around Europe in search of cheap booze, cheap ladies and adrenaline kicks also friendship was found. One of all those bands we played with was the Scams. Brilliant Rock n Roll from “Growlake” (Dregen called Nässjö for “Noselake” so I guess I can call Väx(quiet S)jö for “Growlake” ) that had a part Hurriganes, part Accidents, part Ramones and part Streaplers vibe to the music.
This is exactly how it is supposed to be - especially when it’s Friday. If you as me grew up in a small town in middle of nowhere, you know which vibe I’m talking about. Moonshine, rock n roll & eurodisco, fistfights, cruising, brawls, denim, fat girls… The Scams capture it. They take me back home for a while.
Anyway, the relationship with Scams was suddenly shattered into pieces – we drank all their beer at a gig in Karlstad. We haven't spoken since.
Nevertheless, they do kick-ass rock n roll and are the perfect fix when getting ready for a weekend of darkness..
