Imperial State Electric: album out now & Nicke Andersson interview!

The Imperial State Electric album is released today, and for those living under a rock recently that’s ex-Hellacopters singer/guitarist Nicke Andersson’s new band/project/thing.

We got an interview for you here with Nicke about the origin of this band, the members their new record, the future… and the worst Beatles album!

The live footage was shot at ISE’s only gig so far, the release party at Debaser in Stockholm, Sweden on Monday the 24th of May. The touring band members referred to in this interview are Tobias Egge – guitar (The Objects), Dolf De Borst – bass (The Datsuns), Tomas Eriksson – drums (Captain Murphy) who started out as the bar band Cold Ethyl in Stockholm, playing 70’s rock covers once a month during part of 2009.

While the album have been recorded with different combinations of musicians, including original Hellacopters and Backyard Babies guitarist Dregen, Death Breath singer/guitarist Robert Pehrson as well as Spatziba’s own Anders ”Boba” Lindström, to name a few.

They’re also playing a few select gigs this summer, check ’em out!

• 24 June – Palau Sant Jord, Barcelona, Spain
• 25 June – Azkena Rock Festival, Vitoria-Gasteiz, Spain
• 3 July – Peace & Love Festival, Borlänge, Sweden
• 11 August – Øyafestivalen, Oslo, Norway
