LAST WALTZ PART III: NEIL YOUNG’S NOSE
Remember what I wrote about the myths surrounding The Bands famous concert movie "The Last Waltz"?
I've never met anyone involved with the production so I've never been able to ask about them editing out stuff from Neil Young’s nose, or the coke room backstage. - I don't know what's true, but obviously I got a couple of theories. First, take a look at Neil Young’s performance.
Beautiful, innit? I just love how Robbie and Rick are having a conversation during one of the verses.
Unfortunately I don't know a thing about video editing in the 70s so I can't make a statement from a technical point of view. But look at Mr Young’s expression, have you ever seen that cat smile like that? - And that's a cheeky smile, I tell you that... But a smile doesn't mean a cinnamon bun in some parts of this town, and even if he seems sociable enough to actually have a chat with I shall not dig deeper into the possible effects you might get from cocaine and how it might look. I plead the fifth.
Let's jump a freight train to the next myth about coke rooms. But first I gotta screw on the neck on my Stratocaster. Might take a while, 'cause I gotta go to Halkan’s Rockhouse and pick up the missing screw. "The Missing Screw" - sounds like a rocknroll band.

Looks like there is something in his nose from the start...
