Crazy 'bout my northern gal

Ya’ll might have noticed that it’s been real silent from me for a while. So let’s ease into things, take it real slow for a minute.

Then how come de Wolf has been so quiet lately? Doesn’t the boy got anything clever to write, nothing cool to show you, no tips from the bag lady on the corner to whip in ya face? Truth is dawg, I could tell you “I’ve been away”, “I caught a cold”, “I’ve been working” or “I’ve been auditioning people for my crew” and it might all be true. Just as true a statement might be “I’ve been watching season 1-3 of The Wire”. But really, a month without posting?

My new line of lingy might give away that I indeed have been watching a whole lot of The Wire. Haven’t been using “aight” since I was into Tupac in sixth grade. But that doesn’t make them other reasons less true. I did go for a vacation (up north actually), I’ve been fighting a cold for a while (I haven’t enjoyed the swedish winter for a couple of years), I have been hustling for every quid I can get (I need a new Gretsch and this writing gig ain’t gonna pay for that) and most of all I’ve been having new drummers and double bass players lining up from around the block to show me their skills.

This cat (who plays a mean double bass) showed me this clip on youtube, and I really dug it. Made me thinking - shouldn’t I have a mexicano (or something more politically correct - a man with latin heritage) in my band? Another switchblade romantic, who you call “pachuco” and wears a zoot suit to rehearsals? Man wouldn’t life be sweet.
