Øya Festival, August 10th-14th in Oslo

We'll so be there!!!

I've heard the food was healthy there, the beer cases very light and the grass greener than Melanie Laurent's eyes. Oh, and also, some fancy music programming is going to happen.

The Øya festival will turn you on very easily, mark my words. Why that? Check out some of the acts. In any order: Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti. LCD Soundsystem. Air. Robyn. M.I.A. Flaming Lips. Converge. Girls. Field Music. Broken Bells. Lindstrom & Christabelle. Panda Bear. Yeasayer. La Roux. Also, the locals Serena Maneesh and Motorpsycho. Or some never tired dudes like The Stooges or Pavement.

Hell yes, Ariel Pink. Can't actually wait. People who already saw it live will sing his praises to you. Here is a first video for you, from his album Before Today. Brilliant.

You know, with all the festivals around the continent during summer, you just don't know where you should just aim to get a blast. Believe me, all these festivals are more and more a pain in the ass for people like me who just complain all the time of:
"Too many people"
"20 minutes to get a beer?! Fuck that!"
"The other scene is way too far, we'll never make it..."
"These guys are way too tall, I can't see shit!"
"Can I siiiit, please? I'm tired..."

At Oya (for sure I have been remunerated a max to say this), this is not happening. This is a "human-size" festival, since you can go wear your favorite speedo with your favorite artists in the water next to the stage, you can meet beautiful girls on a basis of 5 for each square meter, and you can easily find a spot where to relax, rest, reload your battery.

Anyway! Get even more excited with some more songs from artists who will be spreading some love and sweat during those five days of music celebration.

Robyn 'Dancing On My Own' (Official Video)

Air - La Femme D'Argent (aargh, fantastic!!!)

Broken Bells - The Ghost Inside (Live at The Boat) pretty sick live perf

Make sure to check out Øya festival's website to know more about the venue, the line-up, the tickets and what to wear.
