Everybody's Got To Learn Sometime
Third chapter of our disCOVERy feature, one of the biggest hits from the early eighties. Some will think it's cheesy as fuck, I still think it is a humongous smooch song, a slow dance which will last forever.
Such a good tune, that some artists secretly cherished The Korgis song so much that they made a cover. Two huge covers. Let's say it, both are major and magnificent interpretations of the original one.
Last year, The Field bombed the net with an ambient, hypnotic and ultra layered version of the hit. Like a slow-motion fall from a building, staring at the sun, waiting for the time to eternally stop.
And before that, Beck recorded this cover for the Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind masterpiece by Gondry. If the soundtrack by Jon Byron was impressive, the main act that everybody will remember is definitely Beck's desperate and majestic song. Perfect whispered vocal harmonies. Subtle strings. Heartbeat bass. Honestly, this song could make Will Ferrell bursting into tears.
Yes. Make sure to be in deep sadness to listen to both of the songs. Make sure to hide your head under the pillow, recollecting instants from the past, regretting as much as you can, admitting you failed in your life, that, that... Ah... Maybe too extreme. You got my point about what feelings these songs (could) spread.
