The Chronicles are so misleading.

So, even though the hip people may have deserted this type of music in favour of more "ethnic" or "wordly" sounds, CC just cranked up the volume to whatever and dropped their new album "Crystal Castles II" in late april, adding even more mayhem, epelepsy, distortion and madness to their familiar sound; primitive electronic rythms, 8-bit error and violent vocals.

But between it all, there is still a raw feeling of pure melody and drive; left alone in the middle of a dark, stinking nightclub, only lit up by the nauseating strobelight; feeling the only way to survive is to dance until you taste blood in your mouth and madness shines through your eyes; bridging over into the softer moments of codeine synths and valium vocals; fumbling towards sweet nothingness.

Thank god for this, thank god for music that clears my head like a shot of chlorine, something so very raw and pure it can never be faked or imitated; pitch black and blindingly white at the same time.

Below is the new version of "Baptism", a song that was first heard in another version over a year ago, and the pure nosebleed insanity of "Doe Deer", both off the new album.
