AWARDS SEASON

And whats good about it? Hell, I don't know..

You never get to see the one you want up there, doing a speech, getting the props they deserve. It's not like Roc Marciano will take home a grammy this year, right? You'll probably see Nicky Minaj, Drake, Wiz Khalifa and Lil' Wayne up there taking praise. Well, with all due respect, fuck that. There's no joy or interest in that.

All though, there is a little light in all this "awarding". In a country like mine, Sweden, the scene ain't that big. And for the first time in a long while it's a scene that's doing something with itself. It stretches in many directions, it's filled with different ideas and different personality's. Which is great, but I'm not saying it's all good, let's make that clear. But acts like Stockholmsyndromet, Still Pee & Ru, Kapten Röd, Aleks, Sjukstugan(!!!), and Malcolm B made it a good year for Swedish hip hop. And with that said, an award focused on acts like these, a hip hop award in Sweden would be good, right?

Yes, and there is one. Kingsize Awards is an event going off Februari 15th at Hamburger Börs, here in Stockholm. If you can't get tickets and go, which you do right HERE. You can still be a part of it. If you live in Sweden your familiar with these acts, so go cast a vote on the ones you feel deserve recognition at this years award. And if you don't live in Sweden, this is a great opportunity to get to know some of the music coming from this fine country.

So all you do is click right HERE and it will take you to Kingsize Facebook, where you - after hitting the Like button - cast your vote on the acts (or sneakers) you want to.

Sorry, I had to throw in a video here, rap's in Swedish, but fuck it, enjoy the beat and the drunken style flow. Sjukstugan!
