The Hourglass

One by one my fingers lose their grip and the ultimate peril of falling 7,000 feet into a river of blood greets me kindly. Time is running out. Fucking pygmies.

Ikepod is a Swiss company that likes the watch, "la timepiece." But here they switched over to the art of glass, transforming the timeless timekeeper of the hourglass. Their words:

"Marc Newson's latest creation for Ikepod sees the Australian designer interpret the most iconic timepiece of all: The Hourglass. Director Philip Andelman traveled to Basel, Switzerland, to document the designer's modern take of the classic hourglass inside the Glaskeller factory. Each hand made hourglass comprises highly durable borosilicate glass and millions of stainless steel nanoballs, and is available in a 10 or 60 minute timer."

What a life for the little men at the bottom, sitting in their own personal glass house (no rock throwing, please) as the unseeable, unknowable God slowly trickles grain by grain a line of sandy death. No water, no camels to break that hump and suck the livid juice -- it's a desert and unless you're Jesus you're fucking DEAD. Music is Philip Glass. Is that funny?
