Daniel Blom - Northern Psyche
Here is a really sweet new personal project by photographer Daniel Blom. Blom, who is a very skilled photographer, spatziba ambassador but he is also probably the tallest photographer in northern Europe.
In this 7 image series, photographer Daniel Blom explores the grand nature in his home state of Jamtland, Sweden. The narration of the landscape seek to comment on the importance of light, how the addition of light can alter the dynamic backdrop of peoples lives and how the inhabitants of this far northern region live without the light during the long winter months. Shot on 4×5 film, the images portrays snow covered lakes, mountains and forests in a isolated yet inviting setting. With analogue in-camera multiple exposure technique and on-location masking, the controlled distribution of light creates strong shapes and figures that adds another axis to the bi-dimensional space.
